White

Purity and potential White is a symbol of purity and potential. The new student is said to be pure beacause he is complety ignorant of the requirements of the art and has no experience of it.

For graduating to the next level between 24 and 30 hours of training are required after 12 hours of training , a Kyu will be placed on his belt confirming

Orange

Stability (10th and 9th kyu) The element is Earth, which means that the training at this level should concentrate on stability.

Upon receiving his orange belt, the karateka reaches the 10th kyu, to get the 9th kyu, a minimum of 17 hours of training are required. For grading to blue belt, a minimum of 35 hours as orange belt are required.

Blue

Fluidity and adaptability (8th and 7th kyu) The element is Water which means that the karateka training for blue belt develops a basic ability to adapt and react fluidly.

Upon receiving his blue belt, the karateka reaches the 8th kyu, to get the 7th kyu, a minimum of 28 hours of trainingare required. For grading to yellow belt, a minimum of 55 hours as blue belt are required.

Yellow

Affirmation (6th and 5th kyu) The element is Fire . Concentrate on the hara and feel the energy flowing from that centre.

Upon receiving his yellow belt, the karateka reaches the 6th kyu, to get the 5th kyu, a minimum of 35 hours of training are required. For grading to green belt, a minimum of 70 hours as yellow belt are required.

Green

Emotion and sensitivity ( 4th and 3th kyu) The element is Air and connected to the heart. In the dojo, the green belt concentrates particularly on proper breathing methods.

Upon receiving his green belt, the karateka reaches the 4th kyu, to get the 3th kyu, a minimum of 50 hours of training are required. For grading to brown belt, a minimum of 100 hours as green belt are required.

Brown

Creative and pratical level ( 2nd and 1st kyu 0 the brown belt develops technical variation of his own. The karateka should be very strong and very comfortablein the execution of all techniques.

Upon receiving his brown belt, the karateka reaches the 2nd kyu, to get the 1th kyu, a minimum of 75 hours of training are required. For grading to black belt, a minimum of 150 hours (1an et demi) of training as brown belt are required.

Black

The black belt is the most important in the life of the karateka. The black belt colour is the colour of strength, it takes in all colours, With years of training as black belt, the belt will become frayed at the edges and turns white. The circle is complete.

From Shodan to Nidan( 1st dan to 2nd dan ) A minimum of 1 500 hours of training with a minimum of 5 years

From Nidan to Sandan ( 2nd dan to 3rd dan ) A minimum of 1 500 hours of training with a minimum of 5 years

From Sandan to Yondan ( 3rd dan to 4th dan ) A minimum of 2 000 hours of training with a minimum of 7 years

From sandan to Yondan (4th dan to 5th dan ) For a Sensei, 7 to 10 years of training ( 3 to hours /week) are required for grading to 5th, at the japan Honbu.
